Howdy Flumergex fans, we are so happy to be here, living this life, loving our people, making announcements to you, and today we’re pleased to let you know that Pagan Yuletide Carols, vol. 2 has been scheduled for release in October 2026 and will be available for pre-sale a month or so before then. So look it up on your favorite online streaming platform, and get these groovy new takes on festive holiday songs added to all your playlists!
This album is the long-awaited sequel to our most popular musical recordings of our entire career as a band to date, namely Pagan Yuletide Carols, vol. 1, which through the magic of search algorithms has enjoyed several thousand streams from listeners around the world despite our lousy band manager’s lackadaisical attitude towards marketing and publicity. (Dude works for free, though, so what do we expect?)
With improved production techniques and a more experienced studio technician doing the mix (who are we kidding, it’s the same dude, he’s just been doing it longer now; but to give him credit, that does still mean that in the meantime he has in fact gained more experience in his sound engineering role) – ahem, the point is, we think the quality of this batch of recordings is far more professional-sounding and shiny than its predecessor, and we hope audiences will enjoy the music.
Of course, in addition to being a musician producer-performer, Jesse is also the author of the book Rise of the Pagans, and that fact says something about his spiritual journey and personal world view. That outlook in turn has influenced Smith’s song selections for this festive pair of albums of holiday music. The basic concept behind the Pagan Yuletide Carols project was to emphasize very, very old songs, and/or to write new lyrics for familiar carols. Along the way we threw in a couple of more modern but very popular cover tunes. So here’s what that looks like on the new album:
- Deck the Halls
- The Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy
- The Holly and the Ivy
- O Evergreen
- The Carol of the Bells
- Last Christmas
- Here We Come A-Wassailing
- We Wish You a Merry Solstice
I feel like I already wrote out descriptions of these songs. Where did I put that? I’ll poke around and see if I can dig it up so I don’t have to write all this out twice. In the meantime, go sign up for the pre-release, and get in line for some Yuletide fun!
